Aqua Force Swimmers Win Big At Kickoff Meet

The Fox Valley Family YMCA Aqua Force hosted it's second annual Fall Kickoff Classic meet on October 4-6.   Over 300 swimmers from 8 different teams participated in the three day event.

The Aqua Force team placed first in points scored.  In addition, many of the swimmers won individual awards.  Seventy-three Aqua Force swimmers won first, second or third in an individual event.  Ten Aqua Force swimmers won a high point trophy.

Each age group awarded first, second and third place to swimmers who earned the most points for their team. Points were awarded to swimmers who finished in first through sixteenth place in their individual events.  The higher the finish, the more points that were awarded.   

Audrey Converse won second place and Laynie Wold won third place in the 6 & under girls category.  Alex Saling won first place in the 6 & under boys category.  Andrew Harris won second place for 8 & under boys.  Skylar Ruggles won first place for 10 & under girls. Ethan Castilla won first place and Matthew Harris won second place for 10 & under boys. Catie Casanovas won first place  for 12 & under girls.  Joshua Harris won first place and Becket McGraw won third place for 12 & under boys. 

The following Aqua Force swimmers won first place in their events: Jason Reppy for 500 freestyle, Mathew Harris, Drew Norquist, Logan Campbell and Ethan Castilla for the 200 yard freestyle relay, Skylar Ruggles for the 200 yard freestyle, Ethan Castilla for the 200 yard freestyle, Ethan Castilla for the 50 yard butterfly, Skylar Ruggles for the 100 yard backstroke, Joshua Harris for the 100 yard backstroke, Catie Casanovas for the 100 yard breaststroke, Skylar Ruggles for the 50 yard freestyle, Ethan Castilla for the 50 yard freestyle, Nathan Willie, Bruce Beard, Caleb Reveter and Patrick Regan for the 100 yard freestyle relay, Alex Saling for the 25 yard freestyle, Erin O'Connor, Hailey Dillon, Courtney Castilla and Paige Phillips for the 100 yard medley relay, Noah Aguado, Carson Converse, Andrew Harris and Tyler Conner for the 100 yard IM relay, Ethan Castilla for the 100 yard individual medley, Skylar Ruggles for the 50 yard backstroke, Ethan Castilla for the 50 yard backstroke, Colleen O'Conner for the 100 yard butterfly, Ethan Castilla for the 100 yard freestyle, Ethan Castilla for the 100 yard freestyle, Colleen O'Connor for the 100 yard freestyle, Catie Casanovas for the 50 yard breaststroke, Eric Hix for the 50 yard breasstroke, Catie Casanovas, Skylar Ruggles, Lauren Abrell and Colleen O'Connor for the 400 yard freestyle relay and Maya tiseth, Briana Kirsch, Hayley Berg and Krystal Gillespie for the 400 yard freestyle relay. 

Aqua Force members who finished in second or third place in an event included Colleen O'Connor, Ben Sapet, James Iglesia, Jason Reppy, Pao Vargas, Mackenzie Kehoe, Mikayla Regis, Skylar Ruggles, Matthew Harris, Becket McGraw, Gabe Rodriguez, Luka Forve, Joshua Harris, Ethan Castilla, Catie Casanovas, Drew Norquist, Tess Fogelberg, Tim Campbell, Zach Zappia, William Regan, Michael Harris, Noah Aguado, Alexandra cassanovas, Audry Converse, Laynie Wold, Ale Saling, Carson Converse, Hannah Houston, Briana Kirsch, Gwyn Campbell. Colleen O'Connor, Brodie Mikuta, Alex Pierce, Lauren Abrell, Megan Kirsch, Hannah Ward, Kaylynn Gillespie and Tabatha Garcia. 

The Fox Valley Family YMCA Aqua Force has 127 swimmers ranging in age from 5 to 18.  In addition to competing in the YMCA events, Aqua Force swimmers also compete in USA swimming meets.
