Arranmore Farm & Polo Club Announces Summer 2017 Events

Arranmore Farm & Polo Club is officially open for the 2017 Summer and Fall season! Chicagoland’s premier open-air venue located at 34 Rance Road in Oswego, IL is thrilled to announce their series of special events that will entertain, excite and fascinate.

Family-owned and operated by the Greene family since 1999, Arranmore is situated on 300 stunning acres of lush land. The name comes from the island of Arranmore (Árainn Mhór) located five miles off the coast of County Donegal, Ireland where one side of the Greene family lineage originated from. In fact, relatives still live there today.

For the past eighteen years, Arranmore has played host to private polo matches with some of the top players from around the world. In 2015, owner John Greene’s daughter, Shannon Greene Robb, was wanting to incorporate a ‘community feel,’ to Arranmore. So, she began producing events open to the public such as festivals, unique concert experiences, specialty dinners, corporate events, private parties and of course… polo.

A year later, Greene Robb added weddings ceremonies and receptions to the list of services marketing Arranmore as a DIY type ‘create your dream wedding’ venue that can accommodate any size celebration from May through October.

Arranmore’s public events kick off in July and run through September and are as follows:

Wine Down Wednesdays with Polo -A late afternoon match that takes place every Wednesday in July and August. A tradition at Arranmore, the event allows guests to park next to the field for an “up close” experience to the polo action. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and match starts at 5:30 p.m. $20 per car. Blankets, folding tables, chairs and food may be brought in. A drink cart will be on site along with food options.

CabCab (aka Cabernet Cabaret) Concert Series (July 15th, August 5th, September 9th)-Three open-air music event that features an eclectic mix of performances by local, favorite, hand-selected performers who band together forming a one-of-a-kind cover band of your dreams! Themes include “British Invasion,” “I Love Rock N Roll,” and “Home Sweet Home.” Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and show is 8:00 p.m.- 11:00 p.m. Ticket packages are available from $20-$50 per person, under age 13 is free. Food, drink, blankets, chairs, tables may be brought in. Additional drinks and food will also be on site for purchase.

Polo (July 23rd, August 13th, August 27th)-Each summer season, Arranmore hosts players from all over the world, who are attracted by a shared passion for the sport and the club's world-renowned polo fields. Match themes include “Chicago Polo Cup,” “Women’s Invitational,” and “Arranmore Polo Classic.” Gates open at 1:00 p.m. and match start at 3:00 p.m. Ticket options range from $10-$40 per person or $45-$75 per car. Under age 13 is free. Food is allowed, no outside beverages. Blankets and chairs are recommended for lawn seating area.

A portion of Arranmore’s seasonal profits will go to their non-profit, ArranmoreArts, which launched in 2006 and provides unique performances and artistic educational experiences for the youth in the community.
