Attacker Charged In Fatal Chick-Fil-A Stabbing Deemed Fit For Trial: Report
The 20-year-old has been receiving treatment since he was deemed unfit to stand trial at the start of the year.

OSWEGO, IL — The man accused of fatally stabbing a delivery driver inside Oswego's Chick-fil-A, plus injuring a maintenance worker and his mother, was deemed fit to stand trial, according to a report from WSPY News.
The 20-year-old Darryl Lee Jr., of Kankakee, is facing charges of first-degree murder, armed robbery, armed violence, building burglary, concealment of a homicidal death and aggravated battery after a double stabbing Oct. 22, 2025, at the fast-food restaurant on Route 34 in Oswego.
Tracey J. Land, 52, of Bridgeview, was making a delivery inside the restaurant when he was stabbed to death by Lee, who then attacked two maintenance workers outside the business about two hours later, according to Oswego police. The mother-son duo was able to restrain the attacker and call police to the scene.

Lee has been receiving treatment from the Illinois Department of Human Services after he was found unfit for trial in January, Patch reported. About two months prior, he pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
Lee's next court date is scheduled for Oct. 22.
