Attempted Arsonist Doused House In Liquid: Oswego PD

A 28-year-old Waukegan man is accused of trying to set a home on fire May 2 in Oswego.

OSWEGO, IL — A 28-year-old Waukegan man is accused of pouring a flammable liquid on the front door, patio furniture and plants outside an Oswego home and igniting it, police said. Colin J. Davy, of the 300 block of Genesee Street, was arrested May 11 in Waukegan.

Oswego police responded to a home in the 200 block of Woodford Road at around 9:30 a.m. May 2 for a report of an attempted arson that happened overnight.

Police said the fire caused "partial damage" but no one was hurt.

A warrant for Davy's arrest was issued May 7 after Oswego detectives completed their investigation of the attempted arson.

Davy was taken into custody May 11 and remains at the Kendall County jail, according to documents. His bond was set at $50,000.

He's due back in court June 14.
