Aurora Police Nab Suspected Bank Robber at Oswego Gas Station
The man, whose name has not been released, is suspected of robbing the PNC Bank in Aurora earlier Saturday morning. He was taken into custody at 9:39 a.m. at the BP station at Orchard and Route 34.
Aurora police, assisting the Federal Bureau of Investigation, tracked a suspected bank robber to a gas station on Orchard Road in Oswego on Saturday morning, and apprehended him without incident.
According to Aurora police spokesman Dan Ferrelli, the 29-year-old man is suspected of robbing the PNC Bank at 77 S. Broadway in Aurora at 9:15 Saturday morning. Ferrelli said the suspect entered the bank, handed a note to a teller, displayed a handgun, and fled with an undetermined amount of money.
The man took off in a blue Ford Bronco, Ferrelli said. A vehicle matching that description was seen at the at the corner of Orchard Road and Route 34 in Oswego shortly thereafter, Ferrelli said, and Aurora police responded to that site in force, according to witnesses.

The man was taken into custody at the gas station at 9:39 a.m., Ferrelli said. No shots were fired and no one was injured.
No charges have been filed against the suspect yet, Ferrelli said, and investigators are in the process of obtaining a search warrant. The FBI is handling the investigation, he said.
