OSWEGO, IL — Avid readers can celebrate National Book Lover's Day with a community book scavenger hunt Aug. 9.

Online bookstore and reseller SecondSale.com, along with residents from Oswego and Montgomery, are joining forces to host the first-ever event, which will start at 10 a.m. and last until 6 p.m. that Monday.

SecondSale will be dropping clues pertaining to specific books, authors or literary characters on its social media accounts, including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, every 30 minutes. Each clue will also have information about the next location around town.

Participants — anyone is welcome to join the quest — who bring the correct answer to each location will be given a "SecondSale Buck" that they can collect. At the end of the hunt, the first five successful participants who bring the bucks to the bookseller's warehouse in Montgomery, at 900 Knell Road, have a chance to choose a basket of books from the SecondSale.

Each family or group can get one prize, and both adult and children's books will be available.

After the first five baskets are awarded, organizers said participants can still go to the warehouse until 6 p.m. for a special gift.
