  • Do not stop on or otherwise block the streets around schools.
  • Do not pass a stopped school bus with its stop sign arm out & red lights flashing (On a road having 4 or more lanes that permit at least 2 lanes of traffic to travel in the opposite direction, you do not have to stop upon meeting a school bus that is stopped in the opposite direction).
  • All school buses stop at train tracks, do not pass buses on railroad crossings. (If you are traveling in the opposite direction of the bus, you may pass a school bus stopped at the railroad crossing. If you are traveling in the same direction as the school bus, it is illegal to cross over the center line to pass the school bus within 100 feet of the railroad crossing).
  • Motorists are reminded that the speed limit in all school zones when children are present is 20 mph.
  • Please always stop for pedestrians, especially on crosswalks.
