Be Part Of The Oswego Community Garage Sale

The deadline to sign up is later this month for the May community sale.

OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Community Garage Sale, sponsored by Environmentally Conscious Oswego, the Village’s ECO Commission, happens Friday, May 18, and Saturday, May 19, 2018, throughout Oswego.

Sign-up is now open for residents who would like to participate as sellers. Residents can sign up in person at Oswego Village Hall, 100 Parkers Mill, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, now through Friday, April 27.

Sign-up costs $15, and includes a yard sign and stake, as well as a listing for your sale in all advertising. The list of those participating in the Community Garage Sale will be published in the Ledger-Sentinel on Thursday, May 10, about one week prior to the sale. Listings will also be posted to the Village’s website, www.oswegoil.org, and on the Village’s Facebook page.

After the sale, your garage sale sign and yard stake can be returned to Oswego Village Hall for a $10 refund. All signs must be returned by Friday, June 8.

Finding new homes and new uses for unwanted items benefits the environment by preventing pollution and saving energy from the harvesting of new raw materials, as well as reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills. Participation in the Communitywide Garage Sale is great for your pocketbook and for the long-term health of the community and the planet.
