Bertino-Tarrant Hosts Town Hall Meeting at Murphy Junior High

Event is Monday, Sept. 29.

Sen. Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant (D-Shorewood) will be holding a legislative town hall meeting later this month to discuss new laws passed by the General Assembly, as well as the upcoming fall session.

The meeting will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at Murphy Junior High School, 26923 Grand Park Blvd.

“Many important laws passed the General Assembly last year, and we have quite a few issues that we will need to address in the coming year,” Senator Bertino-Tarrant said in a press release. “It is imperative for residents to weigh in on these very important topics.”

Some of the issues that Bertino-Tarrant expects community members to weigh in on are the income tax debate, the state budget and the proposed minimum wage hike.

In addition to these important issues, town hall meetings also give members of the community an opportunity to discuss other state government and community concerns.

“If members of the community are willing to take time out of their day to attend a town hall meeting, I want it to be as informative and worthwhile as possible,” Bertino-Tarrant said.

The town hall meeting is open to the public. Bertino-Tarrant encourages anyone with questions or concerns to come join her for a candid conversation about state and local government issues.
