Adoptable Dogs
Looking for a fabulous furry addition to your family? Try adopting - here are 3 wonderful dogs all from www.angelsonwheels.org
Jack – http://www.petfinder..com/petdetail/24225465 - I am currently in a foster home with children who I adore, other dogs that I love to run and play with and kitties. I love the kitties because I like to chase them and bark at them, but many kitties may not like that. My foster mom says I am very smart. She always makes me sit to get a treat which I don't mind at all! I bet I'll be easy to train as long as I get yummy treats! I really like it here with my sister but I can't wait to find a home of my own and a family to love me always. I'm a little shy when you first meet me and may bark, but I warm up very quickly. I'm very submissive and would get along with anyone.
I am not crate trained, and prefer not to be in one. I am gated in the kitchen to keep me safe at night. I can hold it all night without having an accident, and I'm doing very well on my house training, but my foster mom takes me out every couple hours so that I won't have accidents, after all I'm still a puppy. I hope my new family understands that I am only a puppy and they will need to continue with my house training.
I came to Angels on Wheels with my sister Abby from a high kill shelter in Harlan, Kentucky. I spent a long time there waiting for someone rescue me. I'm so glad the nice people came and got us out of there! It's no place for a puppy like me! I'm really loving being in a home with people, and I LOVE people and dogs. I've been told I'm a good hunter as I've already caught a squirrel and some chipmunks. I promise to keep your yard safe from those things. I would love a lap to cozy in or next to. If you think you could be my forever family, please fill out an application at www.angelsonwheels.org. I know my family is out there waiting for me and I can't wait to meet them! I am being fostered, in a home in Naperville, which is where you would go to meet me should your adoption application be approved.

Jack spends a couple days a week socializing at Central Bark Doggy Daycare in Oswego playing with the other dogs and meeting new people. As you can see in the video he does well with everyone.
Ryder – http://www.petfinder..com/petdetail/23238582 - Meet Ryder, he was born around November 29, 2011 and is a very loving pooch. He is about 35-40 pounds and full of kisses. He will remain a small to medium size dog. Breed is just a guess, but based on his size, appearance, and personality, we believe Ryder to be part Australian Kelpie. Ryder is extremely intelligent and learns quickly. He plays well with other dogs, shares toys, no food aggression, likes his crate, houstrained, and loves playing chase in the yard. He even plays fetch! Ryder is being fostered in a home in Oswego around other dogs and he is fabulous with them. Oswego is where you would go to meet Ryder should your adoption application be approved. Ryder also attends Central Bark Doggy Daycare in Oswego which is where the video was taken.

Ryder truly loves his people and is an awesome dog. He loves cuddling on the couch, being pet, and getting belly rubs. Ryder can play rough with other dogs but learns the level the other dogs are willing to play. No electronic fences please. We don't believe that an apartment will be a good fit for Ryder. Condo would be fine as long as you are very active and could run him a couple times a day to burn off all that puppy energy. Ryder will bark when he first meets someone, but he warm up very quickly.
Ryder is an active pup, and he needs an owner who understands how to provide him with structure and exercise, so that he will thrive. Kelpie's need an owner who knows how to display natural calm, but firm authority over them. Ryder attended an adoption event and spent lots of time with older children that didn't mind the dog kisses, and Ryder was fabulous with them. Because Ryder is a bit active and can be jumpy, we think children over 7 would be best. We don't know about kitties as the foster mom has none. Ryder is spending one day a week at Central Bark Doggy Daycare, and he is fabulous with the other dogs. In the video attached he is the first dog you see.
Ryder came from a high kill shelter in Joplin, MO and has had a bit of a rough start. Looking at his adorable face and seeing his personality, it's hard to imagine how such a wonderful dog could end up alone and unwanted on death row. Lucky for him, we saw his face, knew his loving potential and saved him so he could meet a wonderful family deserving of his love. He was adopted shortly after being put on petfinder, but the family couldn't handle his energy. Any dog that doesn't burn their energy off can become a handful. Ryder would make a fabulous walking or running partner for the lucky family who loves him as much as his foster family does.
Maggie – http://www.petfinder..com/petdetail/24787953 - We are guessing her birthdate at approximately 6/1/2012 and she is currently (on 1/14/2013) 50 lbs, so we think she will be a medium size dog. Although her breed is not for certain and a total guess, one thing for sure is that she is cute! cute! cute, and a total sweetheart!
Maggie would be a great walking or running partner. We also think she would be great at agility. She can jump a 4 ft fence, so she will need a home with a 6 ft fence or no fence at all. She is fabulous with other dogs and children, but we don't know about kitties. Maggie is being fostered at Central Bark Doggy Daycare in Oswego so we are not sure if she is housetrained. PLEASE do not call Central Bark for a meet and greet. An application is required prior to visiting with her. The on-line application can be found at www.angelsonwheels.org. This is one very sweet pooch you will want to meet.
Maggie was rescued from a high kill shelter in Southern Illinois. Looking at her adorable face and seeing her personality, it's hard to imagine how such a wonderful dog could end up alone and unwanted on death row. Lucky for her, we saw her face, knew her loving potential and saved her so she could meet a wonderful family deserving of her love. She would be the perfect pet to add to any family.
Do you think that Maggie would be a good match for your family? If you'd like to meet her, please go to www.angelsonwheels.org to complete the on-line adoption application located under the "adoptions" tab. If your application is approved, you would then be directed to schedule an appointment withe the foster mom in Oswego. All members of the family must be present in order to adopt. Please be patient with the process. Angels On Wheels Animal rescue is an all volunteer rescue with jobs and families trying to save some lives. It can take a few days to process applications. Thank you for your understanding and patience!
