Thanks

A candidate for Village Trustee gives his thanks.

Hi all,

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that supported me in the race for Oswego Village Trustee! I can't adequately express to you how much it means to me that you placed enough faith and trust in me to give me your vote. Running for office was the most fulfilling thing I've done in a very long time, and I can't thank you enough.

Knocking on doors allowed me to meet some of our wonderful neighbors and make many new friends. I met a bus driver for District 308 that doesn't care about political squabbles on the school board, he just wants the kids he drives to get the same wonderful education that District 308 provided his own children when they were young.

I met a young mom that loves the shopping Oswego has to offer on Rt. 34, but she, (like most residents of Oswego) can't stand the eyesore that is Alexander Lumber. She told me that she is a newcomer to the village (like me), but the combination of grace and charm with progress and commerce has convinced her that there is nowhere else in the world she would want to live. I couldn't agree more.

I realize that people won't always see eye to eye, but I believe now is the time for unity on our Board and in our Community. After all, there is more that unites us than divides us, it's just that we work so hard at the differences. Imagine what we could accomplish if we worked together.

I didn't win this time, but I wholeheartedly congratulate the winners: Judy Sollinger, Pam Parr, and Scott Volpe. May you serve the people of Oswego well, and the winds of fortune be at your back. Good luck!

To anyone, give me a call some time, let's grab some coffee or a beer! 630-788-9299.

Sincerely,

Ryan Kauffman
