Who is CREW 242?

  We are a BSA group. We are an outdoor adventure group. Meaning that we do a lot of outdoor things. We age from 14-21 years of age and are made up of boys and girls. The Oswego YMCA helps sponsor our group. That is where we meet on the first Sunday of each month at 7:00 pm. We the youth in the crew get to run all the meetings and decide what events we go on. The adults are there to help us when we need it.

Here are some of the events that we have done in the last year. We went Zip lining and Whitewater rafting in the Smokey Mountains. One of the adults with us was scared to go on the six different zip lines. The guy from the zip lining place helped the adult get over their fear. When we went whitewater rafting the smallest person in the raft got to go to the front and be like the titanic but when the big wave came they sat down and hid. We all laughed and had fun with it.

Normally we meet at the YMCA but not always. We meet other places like a bowling ally, pizza parlor, and Sky high. This year we are planning on meeting at Fun way, and playing whirly ball at a meeting. Each year we end the year with a Christmas party.

Each year so far, we have gone to the Fall Fun Rally in St. Louis Missouri. We get to larp, fence, "big wheel" joust, ninja fighting and a dance at the end of the weekend. The dance is the best part of the weekend. We all get to dance with the 1500+ youth we see there each year. We also meet up with a crew that we are friends with. We sleep in tents outside.

So we do all these fun things together. We go zip lining and white water rafting and meet new people along the way. We have fun meetings. We go to the Fall Fun Rally and have the best time ever.
