My name is Ryan Kauffman and I am running for a seat on the Oswego Village Board.
I want to accomplish four things as Trustee:

1) Speed up the implementation of the Oswego Train station.
2) Lower our extremely high property taxes by expanding the tax base.

3) Restart the Oswego Economic Development Corporation.
4) Get the Trustees to take a 10% decrease in compensation.
I have lived in Oswego for three years. For the better part of the last decade I have worked as an accountant for a local bank. I’m asking for your support to help me win a seat on the Board on April 9th. It will be a tough race, but I will fight hard. There are seven candidates running for three open seats. If I am elected to the Board, I want to be the ear that listens to the working families of Oswego and the voice that communicates their wishes to the government. I ask for your support to help me achieve this goal. I know that if we work together, and build upon our shared beliefs, then we will all benefit from gaining a seat at the governing table.
My experience in business ensures that I know what it takes to make Oswego prosperous. I have an MBA with a specialization in finance from North Central College in Naperville, where I graduated with distinction. My dual undergraduate degrees are in finance and economics, with a minor in business administration.
I know that the downturn in the economy has hit the families of Oswego hard, and it's time to do something about it. I also understand the crush of student loan debt that many young people in Oswego face, having myself paid for school with a combination of hard work and student loans. One of my primary goals will be to get unemployment down by encouraging businesses to move to Oswego and hire people. Towards that goal, the train station will go a long way to encouraging businesses to locate in our wonderful community. When businesses decide to locate here, the board must choose to treat them not as opposition, but as partners central to our community's development.
Let us be the architects of our shared future. The time is here, the place is now, we can build a better tomorrow. Let us move beyond the long night of stagnation, and fully embrace the new dawn of progress. We will move forward into a brighter day. You can help make this happen by voting for me on April 9th.
