You're Invited to Our 1st Birthday Party!
What's going on over at that Neon Cross church on Wolf?

I can’t believe it. We, Wheatland Salem Church, just celebrated our first full year of loving God and loving others in the Oswego community. The reality is we have been learning and growing since the beginning. Just like a baby who learns to crawl, stand and eventually run, we have had our moments of stumbling and falling. I’m embarrassed to say all the ways we tried to let folks know our God loves them. We’ve also had some moments that could only be described as divine. It started with an opening with over 300 people on September 11th last year. The incredible First Annual “Blues Service” for all those willing to get grateful while singing the blues the night before Thanksgiving. The monthly fun we’ve had preparing meals for the poor at Feed My Starving Children, at Hesed House or the youth going downtown monthly to engage the homeless. Then there was the Children’s Christmas service at 4pm where a dedicated and sweet volunteer created an event where we had to find more chairs because there were so many people. Finally, I’ll never forget the Easter celebration in which the police were required to direct traffic out front of the building on Wolf. It’s been an absolutely wild first year.
Thanks to all who came to check us out last year. If you didn’t find what you needed, we hope you will keep looking. There are great churches throughout this area. I’ve met with many of the pastors and we are all praying for you and the community.
For those who didn’t make it over to visit during our first year, our second year looks to be just as interesting. We have just added more space for adult meetings since we have some many great children and youth programs planned for Sunday mornings and Tuesday nights in the church. We also are offering the famous ALPHA gatherings on Friday nights for those who have wondered about Christianity but never have had a place where questions and discussion are encouraged.
