Aurora will celebrate the Fourth of July with its annual picnic-style event and fireworks show at RiverEdge Park.&nbsp;Music will begin when gates open at 6 p.m. and last until 9 p.m. The fireworks will launch at about 9:15 p.m.&nbsp;Food trucks and vendors will sell bites to eat in Wilder Park during the event. Guests are also encouraged to bring their own food and drinks (alcohol will not be permitted). Before the fireworks show kicks off, the city will fly a large red balloon from Veterans Island at the north end of the park, where the fireworks will be launched. People should make sure they can see the balloon when they choose where to sit — if the balloon is visible, the fireworks will be too.&nbsp;

Oswego Presbyterian Church

The Earth Care Team of Oswego Presbyterian Church will be providing Styrofoam®/polystyrene foam recycling for the community Saturday, July 11 from 9 AM until 12 noon, in the church parking lot at 1976 IL Route 25, 0.7 miles north of Oswego. Volunteers will provide curbside pickup.
Any foam materials having the PS6 symbol will be accepted. White food containers (rinsed) and white foam packaging items should be put in a tied-up plastic bag. Black or colored foam items should be put in a separate bag. Foam “peanuts” and “bubble wrap” will also be accepted (in separate bags).Padded envelopes or other packaging material and foam insulation cannot be accepted.
