Child Sex Abuse Charges Filed Against Oswego Man
The 45-year-old is accused of sexually abusing a girl under age 13 in 2016.

OSWEGO, IL — An Oswego man accused of predatory sexual assault of an underage girl turned himself in after charges were filed against him in Kendall County, police said. Michael A. Malpede, 45, of the 400 block of Grapevine Trail, is accused of having sexual contact with a minor during August or September 2016, Oswego police said.
The abuse was reported in March 2018, sparking an investigation. Police said the victim was under age 13 at the time of the abuse.
The Kendall County State's Attorney approved felony charges against Malpede on Friday and his bond was set at $100,000, police said. In addition to predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, he is charged with attempted predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Malpede turned himself in without incident at the Oswego Police Department on Friday and posted 10 percent of his bond, or $10,000.
He is now free until his June 13 court date, according to police.
