Choosing the Positive Trajectory for Illinois

Our Choices on November 4th and what they mean for our future

In a little over two weeks the voters of Illinois will choose who will be our Governor for 2015 to 2019.

This election will probably be the most important for Illinois’ future of any since the end of World War II. We have a clear choice between a positive trajectory and a negative one!

The positive trajectory offers a future where Illinois will have a growing economy with good-paying jobs and opportunity for all its people--not just those with political connections. Illinois can be a state where young people can afford to make their homes and raise their families and where seniors can afford to retire. It can be state where businesses will want to locate without being paid generous bribes by the state or the City of Chicago. It will we a state where job creators are will be welcome because the tax and regulatory environments are reasonable and corruption is brought under control.

The negative trajectory would be a future of rising taxes, intrusive regulation, rampant and growing corruption, all of which would come together to make it increasingly difficult to raise a family, create jobs or retire. It would create a place where essential government services are starved for funds as the tax base deteriorates and the remaining funds are diverted in politically-favored directions. It would be a place where people who are able to leave will do just that. Illinois will become a place where anyone who wants a future and doesn’t have political connections will need to seek it elsewhere.

Five years ago the Illinois House of Representatives impeached Governor Blagojevich and the Senate removed him from office on a 59-0 vote, They rid Illinois of Blagojevich but they replaced him with the Blagojevich enablers! These folks have been sucking the life out of Illinois economy for two generations! They clearly took the removal of Blagojevich not as a signal to change direction, but as a license to do more of the same!

When Detroit declared bankruptcy last July, one Chicago or Illinois official after another lined up to tell us that it can’t happen here. Since then, we have learned that Chicago and Illinois are in far worse condition than anyone was willing to admit.

We can choose the positive trajectory! That’s why I’m voting for Jim Oberweis for U.S. Senator, Bruce Rauner for Governor and Paul Schimpf for Attorney General.
