Congratulations to District 308 Essay Contest Winners

Callista Morgan, Leah Theodor and Morgan Sumowski placed in the Oswegoland Optimist Club essay contest.

Oswego, Ill. (March 7, 2016) — Congratulations to Community Unit School District 308 students – Callista Morgan, Leah Theodor and Morgan Sumowski – on placing in the Oswegoland Optimist Club essay contest.

Of the 68 students who entered the contest, Callista won first place, Leah won second, and Morgan won third. They were challenged with the topic, “Lead by Example – Reality or Fiction.” Student essays were very enlightening and thought provoking.

First place winner, Callista, advances to the district level competition where she will compete to win a $2,500 scholarship.

The Oswegoland Optimist Club is also hosting an oratorical contest on Sunday, March 6 at the Wheatland Salem Church, Oswego, Ill.
