'Cyber-Smart Parent' To Focus On Internet, Phone Safety
Cyber-Smart Parent will take place next month at Oswego High School East. Here's who is giving the free presentation.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego Community Unit School 308 invites all area parents, grandparents, caregivers and adults to a free upcoming presentation on cyber-safety. Cyber-Smart Parent, a special free presentation led by Detective Rich Wistocki, will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19 in the Oswego East High School Performing Arts Center, 1525 Harvey Road.
All adults interested in learning about cyber-safety are encouraged to attend the event, as the district said it's a great opportunity to address your questions, concerns, and feel more empowered to better understand your children and the constantly evolving world of technology.
According to a release from the district, attendees will hear important new information from Detective Wistocki about what kids are doing on their cell phones and online, including texting, "sexting," and cyberbullying. Wistocki is an expert in the field of internet safety and is one of the most sought-after speakers in this area due to his involvement in big cases and legislation, according to the district.
