Dad Arrested After Trying to Stop Cops from Checking on Kids: Police
The 33-year-old Oswego man had locked himself in the house with the kids and was possibly intoxicated.

A 33-year-old Oswego man allegedly tried to stop officers from checking on his kids after he locked other family members out of the house.
Oswego police were called to the home of Ryan Freitag, who lives in the 4000 block of McLaren Drive, at around 6:20 p.m. March 9 for a well-being check, according to Oswego Police Department Public Information Officer Cathy Nevara. Officers were told that Freitag was in the house with his two children and possibly intoxicated.
Freitag had locked other family members out of the house, refused to answer the door or the phone and turned off power in the house, Nevera said.

Near 7 p.m., a family member gave police permission to force entry into the house to check on the kids, according to Nevara.
Freitag tried to stop the officers and was arrested, Nevara said. The children were unharmed.

Freitag has been charged with obstructing a police officer and three counts of aggravated battery. He was taken to the Kendall County jail. A bond hearing will be held at 1 p.m. March 10.
