Discounted Rain Barrels For Oswego Residents
You've got until April 17 to order your half-off rain barrel. Proceeds go to benefit local conservation efforts.

OSWEGO, IL — Oswego residents can get rain barrels for half off as a part of a partnership between the Village's ECO Commission, Upcycle Products and the Illinois Conservation Foundation. The promotion lasts until Earth Day, April 17.
"Rain barrels collect rain runoff from roofs and gutters and store it for later use on gardens and lawns. In addition to saving our community’s precious water resources and reducing water bills, rain barrels are often beneficial to gardens because rain water can be softer and have fewer minerals in it than ground water," the Village website says.
A portion of proceeds go to the Conservation Foundation, which runs conservation projects around the Oswego area. Their projects include rain gardens, native plantings and watershed protection.

Rain barrels will cost between $55 and $60, the website says, an amount about half of what you would find them for on Amazon. "They are made from food-grade upcycled materials, including former pickling containers, and specially washed clean for garden use," according to the website.
You can visit the Upcycle Products wesbite to purchase your half-off rain barrel by April 17 and pick it up at the ECO Earth Day event on April 21. Home delivery is also available for $5.
