As part of the public feedback phase of the process, full-size first draft boundary maps have been placed at each of the district buildings for public review before the forums take place next week. The maps are also available for review on the district website at www.sd308.org.

At the public forums on Nov. 1 and 2, RSP and Associates, a demographer firm hired by District 308 to help navigate redrawing of school boundaries, will provide the public with an informational presentation on how to provide feedback. Following the presentation, the draft boundary maps will be available for review. Committee members and administration will also be on hand to respond, clarify and receive feedback from the public.

Only online and written feedback will be gathered at the public forums. To allow for comments from those unable to attend the forums, an online survey will be available at www.sd308.org beginning at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1 until noon on Friday, Nov. 4. At that time the survey window will be closed so that RSP has time to compile findings.

RSP will utilize public feedback to further inform planning for the Nov. 10 Boundary Advisory Committee meeting. Newly revised map(s) and public forum feedback will also be shared with the Boundary Advisory Committee for further review and consideration at that time.

Final determinations and recommendations by the Boundary Advisory Committee to the Board of Education will be shared at the Nov. 28 Board of Education meeting. The BOE is anticipated to vote on boundary recommendations at its Dec. 12 meeting. After the holidays, building administration will begin planning for on-boarding those students and staff affected in the process.

The final Boundary Advisory Committee meeting will be held Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. at Bednarcik Junior High School.
