Dog of the Day - William!

Hi, my name is William!
I'm a 1 year old hound mix and I weigh around 50lbs. I came to Illinois from a shelter in Tennessee, and I'm looking for my forever home! I'm very happy and affectionate and I listen to my foster very well. I'm housebroken and I like to sleep all night in my crate, and I'm good at sharing chew toys and playing with my foster's other two dogs. I like to roughhouse with the puppy, but I also respect the older dog when he's tired and wants to rest. I get too excited for my foster's cats to stick around, but all I do is bark and sniff them.

I have lots of energy, but I'm great at matching my foster's pace on walks. After a walk, I like to settle down and work on a nylabone or just lay down at my foster's feet. I have no problem with people & their hands being around my food, even to the point of taking it away! I'll sit and wait patiently for my food to be put down.

Did I mention that I'm PERFECT at riding in the car? I'm looking forward to riding home with you!

Safe Haven Dog Rescue standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.

We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption.
