Donate to Kendall County Food Pantry and Get a Free Halloween Portrait

Contact Mettler Portraits to set up an appointment.

Mettler Portraits will be holding its Eighth Annual Halloween Charity Bash to benefit the Kendall County Food Pantry.

From Oct. 20 to Oct. 23, visit Mettler Portraits with a donation for the pantry and you can get a complimentary 4x6 portrait of you or your kids in their Halloween costume.

Local photographer Julie Mettler said most people don’t pay for a photo of their kids in a Halloween costume, so giving out free photos was a perfect way for her to not only give parents something memorable, but help out the community.

“It’s also a nice way for parents to talk to their kids about giving back,” Mettler said.

The number of donations Mettler gives to the food pantry has increased each year since she began doing it.

“I see more and more every year. So far we’ve made it with one van full,” Mettler said, adding that she hopes it eventually takes her two trips to bring the donations.

Call, email or message Mettler Portraits at either 630-421-0246 or through its Facebook page to set up a time slot. Tell them the date you’re hoping for and a desired a.m. or p.m. appointment and they’ll do their best to fit you in.

The Kendall County Food Pantry’s most needed items are canned fruit, canned soup, kid-friendly cereal, sugar, cooking oil, mayo, ketchup, diapers, toothpaste and feminine products.
