Dr. Basel Imam, OB-GYN, joins Edward Medical Group in Oswego
Dr. Imam is accepting new patients at EMG's office in Oswego at the Edward-Elmhurst Health Center, 6701 Route 34.
Basel Imam, MD, an obstetrician-gynecologist (OB/GYN) who also specializes in adolescent and pediatric gynecology, has joined Edward Medical Group (EMG). Dr. Imam is accepting new patients at EMG’s offices in:
- Naperville, Edward Hospital campus, 100 Spalding Dr., Suite 406
- Oswego, Edward-Elmhurst Health Center, 6701 Route 34 (Orchard Rd. and Rt. 34), Suite 100
- Plainfield, Edward Plainfield campus, 24600 W. 127th St., Suite 200
At those locations, he’ll work with EMG OB-GYNs Dr. Linda Anderson, Dr. Diana Calero, Dr. Thomas Carver, Dr. Thomas Chen and Dr. Lourdes Juarez, and nurse practitioner Elizabeth Gansz-Gall.

Dr. Imam received his medical degree from the University of Arizona – College of Medicine in Phoenix. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Maricopa Integrated Health System and St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Phoenix and fellowship in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Imam’s clinical interests include robotic and laparoscopic gynecologic surgery, ovarian cysts, abnormal uterine bleeding, polycystic ovarian syndrome, adolescent menstrual problems, congenital anomalies of the reproductive tract, premature ovarian failure, delayed and precocious puberty, contraception, and pediatric and adolescent gynecology.

Dr. Imam is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and American Medical Association. In addition to English, he is proficient in Arabic and a novice in Spanish.
