Edible Wild Plants

Wild plants are on the menu for Hilltop Gardeners Garden Club.

At the upcoming March 8 meeting, Patricia Armstrong will teach a program on edible wild plants. Using her twenty years of experience, Patricia will highlight the use of some of the more than 600 different trees, shrubs, wildflowers and weeds that can be used to make tasty meals for the table. Armstrong has a MS degree in Botany-Ecology from the University of Chicago and is a teacher at College of DuPage and Morton Arboretum’s education programs. She is the author of Wild Plant Family Cookbook, featuring 1,000 recipes using edible wild plants.

The free garden club program will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Little White School Museum, 72 Polk Street in Oswego and the public is invited to attend.
