Becoming rather frugal as my children begin to enter college, I was considering my subscriptions to magazines. Over the last two years I have availed myself to the Oswego Public Library as a great resource to find novels to read. Previously I collected books, but realized after some reflection (and my wife's persistence) that if I could find books of interest at the library, there really was not a strong reason to purchase these books. So when I was considering researching a topic by reading magazines, I was pleasantly surprised by the ease I could access the magazine of interest through the Oswego Library web site. I signed on to the site. I went to a drop down menu of "e-resources." I found the magazine listed (present issue as well as back issues). Within a few minutes I was reading my magazine on my laptop at zero cost. The library apparently subscribes to the service and in this case I accessed Zinio Digital Magazines. So with the Midwest in the grips of an extremely cold winter, I don't even need to drive to the library to find material to read. A good day all around!
