Handbell Concert

Cast in Bronze, youth handbell choir from Friendship United Methodist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, will present a free concert on Tuesday, June 12, at 7:00pm at Oswego Presbyterian Church, 1976 Route 25.

Under the direction of Music Director Jim Burke, Cast in Bronze is composed of 12 students in grades 7-11 who play five octaves of handbells and four octaves of handchimes. This talented group of young people has played for worship services at numerous churches and performed the local premiere of music for concert band and handbells as well as a pre-concert program for the Cincinnati Symphony Pops Orchestra. The group will be on an eight day tour through Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan.

The program will consist of a variety of outstanding arrangements of traditional and sacred handbell music, classical transcriptions, and pops selections. Several selections will also incorporate flute, cello, piano, organ, and latin percussion. The female vocal trio “Higher Ground” will also sing selections on the program.

The concert is free of charge. A free-will love offering will be taken. For directions and further information, contact Oswego Presbyterian Church at (630) 554 – 8194 or email office@opchurch.org.  The church website is opchurch.org.
