This August 1st thru 5th, 2011, Spevak Percussion Concepts in Oswego, IL, will host it’s first ever, student jazz camp. The Spevak Jazz Workshop is open to students of all instruments grades 7 through 12, who are interested in learning the art of jazz improvisation. Student s will study and rehearse with a powerhouse faculty of five professional jazz musicians in a mentoring environment. Classes will be held in the morning hours during the week capping off with a special Friday night performance featuring the students and professionals performing together on the same stage. The concert, at the studio, will be held on Friday Evening, August 5th at 7PM and is open to the public. A few slots are still available for brass/woodwind students.
