Explosion In Food Truck At Oswego Farmers Market

An aerosol can left next to a grill is being blamed for the incident, which injured one person.

OSWEGO, IL — An aerosol can left next to a grill caused an explosion inside a food truck Sunday at the Oswego Country Market. The Oswego Fire Protection District said firefighters responded to a report of a fire in a food truck just after 11:30 a.m. near Jefferson and Main streets.

Officials said the small flash fire was quickly extinguished by workers on the scene. Firefighters who arrived checked the vehicle for additional signs of fire or hazards.

One person was hurt but was treated and released on the scene by Oswego paramedics, officials said.

Fire crews determined there were no other hazards to bystanders, and the farmers market — held every Sunday through September — remained open.

In May, a similar incident resulted in a larger explosion and set a tent on fire during an event at Chicago's Soldier Field when a propane tank reportedly exploded.
