Fall Sports Tryouts Begin Wednesday at Oswego, Oswego East
Eight sports kick off athletic school year.

The summer doesn’t end until mid-September, according to the calendar.
However, the fall athletic season will begin Wednesday for a host of student-athletes at and t high schools.
That’s the first day of tryouts/practices across the state in boys cross country, boys golf, boys soccer, football, girls cross country, girls golf, girls swimming and girls volleyball.

Oswego and Oswego East are or will be taking registrations in advance of Wednesday’s tryouts/practices.
Oswego High School is accepting registrations and paperwork online. Oswego East’s athletic registration forms also are available online.

Oswego East’s football team competed in two 7 vs.7 camps this summer. The Wolves hosted their own and participated in another hosted by Bolingbrook. In addition, their offensive and defensive linemen participated in a pair of challenges hosted by Oswego East and West Aurora.
“Our kids performed well this summer and improved offensively and defensively,” Oswego East coach Mark Green said. “We answered some questions at the receiver, tailback and linebacker positions and we are looking forward to the start of practice this week.”
Oswego East's season opener is against Rich South at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, in Oswego.
OHS hired three new coaches for the 2011-12 year.
Kate Belke is coach of the girls tennis team, Amie West takes over as boys volleyball coach and John Carlson has been approved as the head softball coach.
