Firefighters To Train For Emergencies At 2 Oswego Houses
Firefighters are enhancing their emergency preparedness at two houses on Van Buren Street through Friday.
OSWEGO, IL — If you're driving down Van Buren Street in Oswego this week, you might notice fire trucks and personnel gathered at two houses.
Nothing is amiss, officials said, as firefighters are conducting training exercises at 6 and 12 Van Buren Street through Friday.
The smoke isn't real, either; it's theatrical, Oswego Fire Protection District personnel noted in a news release.

The training, designed to enhance firefighters' skills and preparedness for emergency situations, began Wednesday and is taking place daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exercises are meant to provide hands-on experience in real-world situations to help crews respond effectively.
"We understand that such activities can generate interest and curiosity among the community members, and we want to assure everyone that safety measures will be in place at all times," officials said in a news release.
