Former Oswego Woman Reported Missing Returns Home

MORRIS, IL — The Morris Police Department has located 20-year-old Caitlynn A. Avery who was reported missing Dec. 27.

According to Morris Police Department Detective Sergeant Alicia Steffes, Avery came back home on her own and had no injuries.

“She ended up calling her mother this afternoon,” Steffes said.

She did not know if it was because of the social media posts regarding her disappearance.

“We had been making calls to a lot of her friends, too so I’m not quite sure what led her to call her mom, but she did.”

Avery had last spoken with her family at 10:45 p.m. Dec. 27. She was reported as originally being from the Oswego area and has contacts there.
