(Batavia, Ill.) July 21, 2016- Since 2011, the goal of Fox Valley Entrepreneurship Center (FVEC) has been to promote small businesses to new heights of steady and longstanding success. This October, the organization will host its largest fundraiser of the year, ELEVATE, on Friday, October 21 at the St. Charles Country Club, 1250 Country Club Road in Saint Charles.

Guests will enjoy a sit-down dinner, networking with fellow entrepreneurs, a silent auction and enjoy live entertainment. The evening’s keynote speaker will be Joseph James Slawek, Founder, Chairman and CEO of FONA International. Some of the center’s graduates will speak about their positive experiences working with FVEC. Tickets are $125 per person and all proceeds will benefit the FVEC with connecting more local businesses with growth opportunities.

“In my opinion, small businesses are the economic engines that create jobs and stimulate our economy,” says Austin Dempsey, FVEC President. “I’m proud that FVEC champions them and helps them with services we offer such as mentorship, training, CEO coaching and growth catalyst expertise. This fundraiser is the biggest event in the year and we want to public to come and not only support us but the small businesses that come into their communities and make their towns and villages desirable places to live, work, and raise their families.”

The event will unveil the first annual ELEVATE awards to showcase Fox Valley area businesses that are making strides and differences in their communities. Nominations are now being accepted in the following categories: “Entrepreneur of the Year,” “Community Business of the Year” and “Innovator of the Year.” For more information, visit http://www.fvec.org/awards/. A very special award, honoring the late Jim Brannen, FVEC Founder, will be presented as well.

About the FVEC

The Fox Valley Entrepreneurship Center (FVEC) began in 2010 as a collaboration between several local entrepreneurs and supporting organizations. The mission of the FVEC is to provide critical support to companies to help them create jobs, expand their business and grow revenue. Further, they foster an environment in which businesses strive for excellence and where innovation is nourished. This is accomplished through training and advising the business owner, providing strategic introductions and engaging in strategic/growth planning across all areas of a business. As a non-profit, the center supports these programs through private donations and grants. To learn more about the FVEC, visit their website at www.fvec.org.
