Get Your Taxes Done for Free at the Oswego Senior Center
Returns will be prepared every Monday from 1 to 5 p.m. until April 11. Appointments are mandatory.

If you’re procrastinating in getting your taxes filed, the Oswego Senior Center will be preparing free income tax returns every Monday from 1 to 5 p.m. until April 11. Appointments will also be available from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 2.
Appointments are mandatory, and returns are prepared at the Oswego Senior Center.
People with incomes of $55,000 or less are eligible for free preparation and filing of federal and state returns, according to a press release from the center.

All volunteers are trained through VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) in collaboration with the IRS.
Information required for your appointment is: proof of identification for you and your spouse if filing jointly (both must be present to sign return); social security cards for all persons on tax return; birthdates, W2s, and/or 1099s; property tax bill, if homeowner; information on other types of income (interest, etc.); a copy of last year’s tax return and bank routing; and account numbers for direct deposit in case of a refund.
