Gobbler Hobbler 10K Registration Open For 2 More Weeks

The course for the Oswegoland Park District-hosted Thanksgiving 10K and Mashed Potato Mile is through downtown Oswego.

OSWEGO, IL — Now that Halloween is over, many are turning their attention to Thanksgiving. Ahead of the holiday, the Oswegoland Park District is hosting its annual Gobbler Hobbler 10K and Mashed Potato Mile Nov. 13.

The 10K race is set to begin at 8:30 a.m., with the one-mile run starting 10 minutes later. After the race, runners are invited to enjoy complimentary walking pancakes — the event is known for this tradition.

With two weeks before the Gobbler Hobbler, runners still have time left to register for the run whose downtown Oswego course begins and ends at Fox Chase Elementary School, 260 Fox Chase Drive North.

Registration is open and can be completed online. On the day of the race, it will begin at 7 a.m. Residents who registered by Nov. 1 were guaranteed a hoodie sweatshirt, refreshments and a finisher's medal. There is a chance runners could still receive swag after that date, but it's dependent on supplies, organizers said.

The cost to enter the 10K and Mashed Potato Mile is $50 and $35, respectively, if registered by Nov. 12. Prices for both races will increase by $5 on the day of the race.
