Hilltop Gardeners 52nd Annual Plant Sale
Garden Club's only fundraiser helps provide beautification projects and free gardening and wildlife educational programs for the community.
The annual plant sale for Hilltop Gardeners Garden Club will be on Saturday, May 12 at Fox Bend Golf Course, 3516 Route 34, Oswego. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, inside the large pavilion tent.
Plants for sale include perennials, annuals, natives, vegetables, herbs and flower baskets, ideal for Mother’s Day. There will be an entire area of garden treasures, which are useful, fun or garden art themed items. The bake sale will have home-baked desserts and their much sought after pies. Raffle prizes include a handmade Texas Wildflower quilt, an 80 gallon Earth Machine compost bin and a large flowering shrub. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and can be purchased from Esther Jamison at 630-554-6810. Winners need not be present to win. There will also be door prizes throughout the day and a large variety of free seed packets available.
The plant sale is the club’s only fundraiser and proceeds are used on many beautification projects in the area and on educational opportunities for the surrounding communities. For more information about the sale check the club’s Facebook page or email Valerie at vgierhart@aol.com.
