How to Get College Money

ISAC will be partnering with Huntington Learning Center to help students get college money.  About 65 parents and students are expected to attend “How to Get Money for College” a back-to-basics workshop that teaches families how to access grants, scholarships, and financial aid dollars.

llinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) presenter, Christina Gioiosa, will conduct the workshop at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14th, at the Huntington Learning Center 1130 Douglas Road, Oswego.

Gioiosa will share anecdotes, answer questions and offer tips and advice about navigating the financial aid process and accessing scholarships.  Parents will learn how to apply for aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and get information about additional resources.

“This is the fifth year that we’ve partnered with ISAC and offered this workshop to area parents.  We’ve found that many parents can be overwhelmed when applying for financial aid and scholarships. We wanted to be able to help guide them through the process,” said Alexa Backus, Huntington Center Director, with 20 years of experience.

The workshop is free and open to the general public.  For more information or to register for the workshop, contact Huntington Learning Center at 630-551-4145.
