IL 71 Traffic Reconstruction Continues

The Village of Oswego has released a tentative schedule for traffic work on IL 71 for the week of April 18-23

• Temporary pavement installed in the IL 71/Orchard intersection area.
• Remove existing pavement and earthwork in the IL 71/Orchard intersection area.
• Pour pavement in the IL 71/Plainfield intersection.
• Install noise wall.

On April 20, a new traffic pattern will be implemented in the IL 71/Orchard intersection area. Traffic will utilize the newly constructed temporary pavement on the north side of IL 71, according to the village.

The following is scheduled for April 21:

• A new traffic pattern from Paradise to Wolf Crossing on IL 71 will be in use.
• The westbound traffic will utilize the westbound outside lane next to the curb and the eastbound lane will use the newly constructed eastbound lane next to the curb.
• Traffic will be split, so that the median work can be completed.
• Traffic will still be able utilize the completed sections of median to have access to the businesses, private drives, etc.
• Calumet Street at IL 71 will be a right turn in and a right turn out as in the final configuration of the plans.
