January At Oswegoland Park District: See What's Planned

Events this month include a combo pilates and yoga class, a history happy hour and an outdoor market.

OSWEGO, IL — For many, January is a slow month that includes recovering from the holiday, keeping up with resolutions and getting ready for a new year.

To help, the Oswegland Park District has an array of events planned throughout the month of January. Here is a look at what the park district has planned this month.

  • History Happy Hour
    • What: A happy hour featuring stories about "some of the most famous people to come out of our little town." Admission comes with one beer ticket to enjoy during the lecture.
    • When: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Jan. 19
    • Where: Oswego Brewing Co., 61 Main St.
  • Crystal Bowl Meditation
    • What: A guided meditation surrounded by candlelight and the soft sounds and vibrations of crystal bowls to help balance chakras and moods. Guests should bring a yoga mat, blanket or pillows and wear comfortable clothing.
    • When: 6:45-7:45 p.m. Jan. 19
    • Where: Little White School Museum, 72 Polk St.
  • PiYo & Pints
    • What: A workout class combining yoga poses and pilates movements followed by a refreshing drink from Oswego Brewing Co. If weather permits, the class will be held outside.
    • When: 10-11 a.m. Jan. 21
    • Where: Oswego Brewing Co., 61 Main St.
  • Oswego Country Market's Winter Market
    • What: A collection of vendors, listed on the park district's website, gathering downtown for the Oswego Country Market.
    • When: 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 22
    • Where: Little White School Museum, 72 Polk St.
