Vehicle Rolls Over, Lands on Cars at Oswego Chevy Dealership

Oswego man charged with DUI, cannabis possession, police said.

An alleged drunken driver lost control of a vehicle that went off the roadway, launched itself through an embankment and came to rest on top of five unoccupied cars at an Ogden Avenue car dealership Saturday, Oswego police said.

Police said the vehicle rolled over onto cars for sale in the parking lot of Rod Westphal Chevrolet at Route 30 and Route 34. The incident happened at around 8:23 p.m.

The driver, 20-year-old Ryan Conroy of the 5300 block of Half Round Road, Oswego, was arrested and charged with DUI, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, improper lane use and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to a police report.

Conroy is due in Kendall County Court on Sept. 2.

The incident wasn’t the only traffic accident to cause damage at a local business in recent days. At around 9:50 p.m. Friday, an Oswego teenager allegedly reversed from a parking spot at Walgreens, 410 Chicago Road, and hit a parked car, causing that car to collide with a Redbox machine, according to police reports.
