Kendall County Sheriff's Office Hires Corrections Deputy
Deputy Michael Smith will now undergo a rigorous 12-week field training program.
The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office has hired a new deputy sheriff to fill a vacant position in the Corrections Division, according to a release from the office.
Michael Smith was sworn in Sept. 28 by Sheriff Dwight A. Baird. Deputy Smith will attend the Correction’s Officer Academy at DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, beginning Oct. 19. Smith will be paired with an experienced Field Training Officer and will undergo a rigorous 12-week field training program.
Deputy Smith, a Plainfield resident, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Lewis University, and a Masters Degree from the American College of Education. Smith worked as an elementary school teacher prior to his employment with the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
