Kendall County Sheriff's Office Hires Two New Patrol Deputies

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — Two new patrol deputies have joined the Kendall County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Dwight Baird swore Kriss Melgoza and Jennifer Vojvoda in on March 24.

The two deputies were hired to fill vacancies in the patrol division, the office announced. Starting Monday, Melgoza and Vojvoda will both be spending 14 weeks attending the Basic Police Training Academy. Once they've completed the program, they'll be paired with experienced field training officers for an additional 14 weeks of rigorous training, according to a news release.

Before joining the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, Melgoza worked in the information technology field for five years. He graduated from Waubonsee Community College with a degree in computer applied sciences.

Prior to her swearing-in ceremony, Vojvoda worked as a campus safety officer at North Central College for almost two years. She studied law enforcement and justice administration and psychology at Western Illinois University.
