KCSO Recognizes National Police Week

Kendall County, IL (May 10, 2021, 3:15 PM)

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15th falls, as National Police Week. National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, and those who continue to serve and protect our communities.

Sheriff Dwight Baird said, “I have the utmost respect for the men and women of the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office and law enforcement across the country.  It is important to honor all the men and women who have made it their profession to put the safety of others before their own, and to honor those that have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.”

Residents can show their support of local law enforcement by displaying blue lights and/or blue ribbon outside their home during police week.
