Kindred Spirits Intuitive Arts Center Moves to a New Location
New location allows for more classes, health fairs and special events.

celebrated its second anniversary last month by moving into a larger location and hosting a grand opening — 'Mind, Body and Spirit' Fair.
Still located near the intersection of Routes 34 and 71, Kindred Spirits has moved from the smaller log cabin to the larger one that formerly housed the . Besides being larger, the cabin is closer to the nearby creek and woods than to the heavy traffic on Route 34. The quieter, more natural surroundings are essential to a wholistic healing center.
Owner Rebecca Sommers describes Kindred Spirits as a center for self-discovery. Through classes, workshops or individual sessions, a person can explore their creativity, develop skills and abilities, increase her self-confidence and expand self-understanding.

“Kindred Spirits can help you explore your spiritual path, develop your creative talents and set and achieve personal goals," Sommers said.
The center offers a variety of healing and developmental options. These include Aromatherapy, Vibrational Healing, Usui & Celtic Reiki, Biofeedback, Meridian Stress Assessment, Cranial Sacral and other massage-like modalities. Expert healers include Denise Van Vliet, Cindy Waldo DiRe and Anita Worden.

The grand opening weekend included lectures, workshops and special presentations by artists and writers. Lectures included “Aromatherapy with Essential Oils & Raindrop Therapy” by Anita Worden and 'The Akashic Records and How We Can Use Them” by Cindy Waldon DiRe.
Sharon Bechtold, third generation artist, also presented a workshop on pyro-graphy (fire writing). Bechtold used wood burning to create pictures in wood.
“I use the natural grain and shape of the wood to inspire the picture," she said
After the workshop, visitors could try their hand at pyro-graphy.
The grand opening also featured writer was Barbi Harris. Harris hosted a tea and book signing for her new book Death and Other Inconveniences. The round table discuss over tea ranged from Harris' inspiration to her childhood memories and dreams.
Sommers said a tea room has opened recently and hours have changed. Kindred Spirits is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday (11 a.m. to 2 p.m. tea room hours. The business is closed Mondays and Tuesdays accept for evening classes which run from 7 to 9 p.m.
