On behalf of the board of directors of the Oswegoland Heritage Association, I’d like to thank everyone who attended our first “My Old School Reunion” on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Little White School Museum.

We’d especially like to thank those who donated prizes to the raffle we held that day and who also donated their time, money, and some of the treats that everyone seemed to enjoy so much, including Bob Cutter, My Sisters Lil’ Donut Shop, the Ledger-Sentinel, American Male & Company, The Marmalade Tree, The Garden Faire, The Village Grind, Janice McCann, and the Oswegoland Park District. It was truly a team effort and without their help, we simply could not have pulled off our celebration of school days past.

We had a wonderful turnout. Everyone who attended seemed to have a great time looking back over their years attending Oswego’s rural and town schools, visiting with friends they hadn’t seen for years—sometimes decades—and contributing to the Little White School Museum’s mission of saving, preserving, and interpreting the history of Oswegoland. The day was valuable for us not only because we were able to entertain and inform so many former students, but also because attendees identified students in several class photos in our collections for the use, information, and enjoyment of future family history and academic researchers.

It may be a trite saying, but the day really was a win-win for all.

JUDY WHEELER, PRESIDENT
on behalf of the
