Rep. Kay Hatcher is hosting her annual senior spelling bee this Friday.

The following is a release from State Rep. Kay Hatcher:
Editors from area news organizations will lend their spelling skills to State Representative Kay Hatcher’s 2013 Senior Spelling Bee; serving as celebrity judges at the April 26 event in Oswego.
Denise Crosby with the Aurora Beacon-News, Kathy Farren with the Record newspapers in Kendall County, Keith Beebe with the Elburn Herald and Natalie Stevens with the Oswego Patch will rule on whether participants’ spellings are correct or incorrect.

“Who better judge a Spelling Bee than editors who every day review news copy to ensure correct spelling and grammar? Their participating has become a tradition, and I’m very pleased that tradition is continuing this year. I can’t wait to see everyone at the Spelling Bee,” Rep. Hatcher said.
Hatcher said the local Senior Spelling Bee is open to everyone aged 50 and better throughout the Fox Valley. The event will begin on April 26 with a 1 p.m. check-in at the Oswego Senior Center, located at 156 E. Washington Street. Those wishing to participate are asked to pre-register with her office by April 19.
