Local Robotics Team TURBO CHARGED is heading to State Competition
Students from Oswego School District 308, and Indian Prairie District 204 Win Kankakee Qualifier.
Team Turbo Charged 14615 is made up of 5 students from 2 local school districts. Ryan Oberfranc and Jensen Coonradt- Oswego SD 308, Preeta & Pranav Swaminathan and Allen Xu - SD 204. These students competes in the FIRST Tech Challenge division of FIRST robotics (For Inspiration, and Recognition in Science and Technology).
On February 19th Turbo Charged competed with 24 teams from two leagues at the Kankakee High School Qualifier event. The day was filled with judged interviews, inspections, and robot competition.
Turbo Charged was ranked 1st going into semi finals matches. After winning their semifinals rounds, they advanced to the finals where they won the competition as winning Alliance Captain. This win advanced the team to the State Competition.

The team and team members also won many awards, including the highest award given to teams based on their judged presentations and community service, The Inspire Award.
Team members Jensen and Preeta were named semi-finalist for the Dean’s list award and advance to state competition. Along with our coach Deanna Oberfranc receiving the volunteer of the year award.

Turbo Charged will compete at the state level with 36 teams on March 12th at Elgin Community College.
The teams will be competing for 3 Illinois spots at the World Competition in Houston Tx. In April.
