Man Still Missing After Car Was In Multi-Car Crash In Indiana: OPD

Oswego police said the 22-year-old's rental car was involved in a crash on March 29, but it's unknown if he was in the car at the time.

OSWEGO, IL — Weeks after a 22-year-old went missing mid-March, Oswego police said Friday his car was found after it was involved in a multi-vehicle crash in Hammond, Indiana, March 29.

But Edward Gardner, who resides in Bolingbrook and has family in Oswego, is still missing, officials said.

The driver and passenger of the rental car — a 2021 white Dodge Charger with Florida license plates — were seen running away from the crash, officials said, but it's unknown if Gardner was in the car at the time.

Oswego police were notified of the crash on April 6, after which they traveled to Hammond to process the Charger to obtain any information that could help locate Gardner.

Family members last saw Gardner in Bolingbrook on March 12, and an acquaintance of his reported seeing him in Chicago's Woodlawn neighborhood on the evening of March 13, police said.
