Memorial Day Parade To Return In Oswego
Hosted by the Oswego American Legion Post 675, the annual Memorial Day parade will step off at 10 a.m. May 30.
OSWEGO, IL — With Memorial Day just over a week out, Oswego residents are likely gearing up for barbecues and various outdoor adventures. In town, Oswego American Legion Post 675's annual parade is returning.
The parade is set to step off at 10 a.m. May 30 from Old Traughber Junior High, 61 Franklin St. From there, the procession will make its way to Polk Street before traveling to Jackson Street and Jefferson Street. From there, the parade will cross Route 34 to get to Main Street, passing the Veterans Memorial on the way to the Oswego Township Cemetery.
Organizations participating in the parade will include Legion Auxiliary, Kendall County Veteran's Assistant Commission, Oswego Fire Department, Oswego Police Department, Kendall County Sheriff's Department, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois. Marching bands from Oswego High School and Oswego East High School will provide the parade's musical entertainment, organizers said.

People participating in the parade will begin lining up at 9 a.m.
A memorial service will follow the parade, and Legion members will host a luncheon to conclude the Memorial Day event.
